This is the 3rd time in the gospel of Matthew that Jesus told them what would happen to Him. Pastor Anthony starts this sermon today by helping us realize that each of us are a slave to something in this world, money, power, possessions, etc. In this parable, God wants us to work toward heavenly things.
The message in verse 16, “the last will be first, and the first last,” is that no matter how long or how hard a believer works during his lifetime, the reward of eternal life will be the same given to all—an eternity of happiness in heaven in the presence of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
