Matthew 27: 1-24 ”The Tragedy of Being Indecisive”

Pontius Pilote, the Roman governor, had all the power he needed to free Jesus and spare Him from being crucified on the cross.  Pilote was weak and gave into the crowd, he was trying to escape his responsibility.  Pastor Anthony takes us through these difficult passages and uncovers all of Pilote’s weaknesses and how we need to take a stand for Jesus.

Matthew 27: 1-10 ”Wrong Repentance”

In this portion of scripture, Judas is so wrought with guilt over betraying Jesus that he hangs himself.  He tried to right his wrong by pleading with the elders stating he betrayed an innocent man.  Pastor Anthony points out that Judas sought worldly redemption and that he never looked to Jesus for forgiveness. Matthew 26: 69-75 ”A Look at Denying Christ”

“Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know Me.”  What caused Peter’s denial?  Pastor Anthony examines these passages with us and points out how we, just like Peter, can fall into the denial trap, he emphasizes that we must be steadfast in our belief in the Lord.

Matthew 26: 57-68 ”The Illegal Trial”

Jesus' suffering begins at the hands of the high priests when they decide He is guilty of blasphemy, these passages reveal the evil in the hearts of the religious leaders.  We also learn that Peter is caught between fear and loyalty to Jesus and that he gave into his fear.
