Matthew 26: 47-56 ”Committment”

Do we put our hope in Jesus and His teachings?  He has a plan for our salvation and Pastor Anthony points them out to us in this sermon.  We are reminded that Jesus's life was not taken from Him, He laid it down for us and He was committed to completing the task His Father laid out.

John 15:26 ”Who is the Holy Spirit to Me?”

Advocate, Spirit of Truth, Councilor, someone who is called to come beside another is how the bible describes the Holy Spirit.  Jesus promised His followers that they would receive the Holy Spirit and the truth would be revealed.  

Pastor Dwayne encourages us to pray to the Holy Spirit, listen to hear how he encourages us to be honest with God.

Matthew 26: 36-46 ”Confronting Trials”

Jesus spends time praying to God in the garden of Gethsemane in these passages and asks His Father to take this suffering away from Him.  We learn that Jesus the man did not want to experience this suffering and separation from His Father, it was a struggle between His flesh and His divine being.  During this time, He wanted His friends with Him.

Pastor Anthony points out that we need to share our burdens with each other and to lean on God, we need to realize that no believer is ever alone.  Sometimes God answers our prayers and if He doesn’t, He gives us the strength to face a trial.

Matthew 26: 31-35 ”Falling Away”

Jesus warns Peter that he will deny Him three times before the night is over, these verses illustrate that we need to warn people of sin and its consequences.  Pastor Anthony reminds us that we shouldn’t be overconfident in ourselves and that we need God’s Word to strengthen us as we go through the trials and temptations in our lives.

Mark 1: 40-45 ”Finding Myself in the Word”

Today Pastor Anthony encourages us to get into the Word of Christ for He has compassion and is willing to heal us.  This message highlights the spiritual healing we experience through our personal relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 26: 14-30 ”The Last Supper”

Pastor Will guides us through these very familiar passages today.  He points out that the religious leaders hated Jesus so much because they didn't believe that He was the Messiah.  We need to believe in what Jesus can do for us because He wants us to know who He is and that He wants to save us.

Luke 2: 25-35 ”Embracing Baby Jesus”

Just after the birth of Jesus, Mary and Joseph brought Him to the temple to be dedicated to the Lord.  Pastor Anthony teaches these passages today which reveals another one of God’s prophecies coming true to His faithful servant Simeon.

Matthew 26: 6-13 ”Sacrificial Faith”

Mary, sister of Martha and Lazarus, anoints Jesus’ head with perfume displaying her love and faith in her Lord.  Pastor Anthony examines these passages and points out five actions taking place between Mary and Jesus. 

We are asked two questions in closing: 
Are we grasping the opportunities in front of us today? 
Are we taking advantage of what God gives us today?

Matthew 26: 1-5 ”Explaining and Plotting”

In these five passages, Jesus explains His death to His disciples and we also learn that the priests and the elders were plotting His death. Listen to learn what Pastor Anthony teaches about the significance of Jesus’ death and how it is tied to the Passover celebration.

We should always remember that Jesus wants a personal relationship with us and that God has prepared a place for us where there is plenty of room.  He wants to give us the gift of joy.

Matthew 25: 31-46 ”The Parables of His Return” Part 3

The third parable in this series teaches us about how we will be judged when Jesus returns.  There are a few things we know about His return – He is coming in Glory, He will come with His Holy Angels, He is coming to be enthroned, He will gather all nations and He will separate the nations to be judged.

When Jesus returns it will be too late for us to seek redemption– listen to Pastor Anthony to understand what is required of us to inherit the kingdom of God.
