Matthew 20: 20-28 ”True Greatness”

As Pastor Anthony reads through these bible passages, he helps us gain an understanding of what it means to be great in the world compared to being great in the kingdom.

Matthew 20: 17-19 “Jesus Foretells”

In these passages, Jesus asked His disciples to go privately aside with Him where He foretold of His betrayal, His death and His Resurrection.  This is the 3^rd time in the gospel of Matthew that Jesus told them what would happen to Him.  Pastor Anthony delves into this portion of the gospel to help us see that Jesus wants us to spend time thinking of and being thankful for the love He has for us.  

Matthew 20: 1-16 ”The Parable of the Workers”

Pastor Anthony starts this sermon today by helping us realize that each of us are a slave to something in this world, money, power, possessions, etc.  In this parable, God wants us to work toward heavenly things.

The message in verse 16, “the last will be first, and the first last,” is that no matter how long or how hard a believer works during his lifetime, the reward of eternal life will be the same given to all—an eternity of happiness in heaven in the presence of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1:1 ”Ordination of Dwayne Phillips”

Matthew 19: 27-30 ”Investing”

What do we receive when we follow Jesus Christ?  Reading through these passages, Pastor Anthony outlines that Jesus is giving us eternal truth and life when we invest in our relationship with Jesus and decide to be Christ followers first.

God will ALWAYS remain faithful to us.  Pastor Wil takes us through a journey in Lamentations 3: 23, Psalms 78: 1-4 and 1 John 1: 9 and shows us just a few examples of God's faithfulness and His continuing forgiveness.  Listen today as he spells out three areas of God's faithfulness.

Matthew 19: 23-26 ”The Dangers of Riches”

“Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven."
How do we know if we are the "rich man"?
 - Do we have what we need?
 - If Jesus asked us to sell everything we have and give it to the poor, would we follow HIm?
Pastor Anthony guides us through these passages and helps us to understand that our only hope to enter the kingdom is to turn to the Lord.
